Delegation from Tanzania's Kidonda Dam Project Visits GNEC

A delegation representing the client of Kidonda Dam Project from Tanzania, which included the Dam Project Manager and the Deputy CEO of Davasa Company, conducted a visit to GNEC on Saturday, 18 October 2025.

The GNEC project in Tanzania involves engineering, consultancy, and site supervision services for the construction of Kidonda Dam and a 20 MW power plant, along with the related power grid and substations. Kidonda Dam construction project is one of the most strategic current projects in Tanzania in the water and energy sector.

To familiarize with the country's technical capabilities and major projects, the project client was invited to a specialized seminar on water dams and sewage systems, which was held by the Ministry of Energy.

Following the seminar and field visits to dams and projects in Khuzestan province, meetings were arranged with the client's representatives at the head office of GNEC.

In the first part of the program, a visit to various company departments took place. Initially, the library was introduced as a major reference for technical knowledge, a comprehensive collection of up-to-date standards and reference books, which is prominent at the Ministry of Energy level, along with books published by GNEC in specialized fields.

Subsequently, a visit was conducted to Water, Structures and Environment Department, the Transmission Networks & Substations Departments, which play a significant role in the execution of the Kidonda Project. During this visit, the specialized supervisors of the units responsible for providing engineering support and design review for the project were introduced, and brief explanations were provided regarding the working structure of each deputy.

In the second part of the meeting, a presentation was given regarding GNEC, its wide range of engineering services, its fields of work, and its completed and ongoing projects. This presentation was received with great interest by the client. In addition to the common areas of work, the client expressed a strong interest in future collaboration in the fields of energy efficiency improvement and loss reduction in water and wastewater treatment plant projects.

The program concluded with a meeting with GNEC CEO, who acknowledged the efforts of the project team in Tanzania, the professional project management services delivered, and the arrangements made for their visit to Iran.
